With the announcement of the intention to launch our new Oniro Working Group yesterday, there may be a lot of questions on what is motivating the founding members to get involved on this exciting journey. During this session we hope to answer these questions with the founding members, and get their guidance to how they see future plans of the Oniro working group and the associated Oniro projects developing.

Open Collaboration for safer Autonomous Mobility of the Future (Director's Pick)

Andreas Riexinger (Robert Bosch GmbH)
Robert Hilbrich (Deutsches Zentrum fuer Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR))
Matthis Eicher (TUEV SUED Auto Service GmbH)

Work in the field of automated driving and autonomous mobility requires many multi-faceted processes incorporating a variety of software tools. In particular, any software that will be used in a vehicle must undergo rigorous testing, increasingly including vehicle and traffic simulation, as part of the verification and validation (V&V) strategy.

Welcome to Open Source

OpenADx - Leveraging open collaboration and open source to accelerate development of Autonomous Driving

Lars Geyer-Blaumeiser (Robert Bosch GmbH)

One challenge the Bosch Autonomous Driving division faces is the toolchain for developing autonomous driving solutions becoming more complex by every level of automation. Well established tools are not well integrated for the use cases and it is easy to detect gaps in the overall toolchain. Instead of solving these challenges alone, wasting lots of money on the path, the Bosch division together with partners from the industry and related domains build up a community to solve the toolchain challenge together in the OpenADx ecosystem.
