Jakarta NoSQL Powered by Cosmos DB on the Cloud

Reza Rahman (Microsoft Corp.)

Jakarta NoSQL is a new standard for accessing non-relational databases on the cloud. Cosmos DB is a best-of-breed planet scale NoSQL database on Azure that is compatible with MongoDB, Cassandra and Gremlin.

In this session we will see how to use these technologies together in cloud native Jakarta EE applications. Most of the session will be demos with a minimal number of slides.

The amount of data collected by applications nowadays is growing at a scary pace. Many of them need to handle billions of users generating and consuming data at an incredible speed. Maybe you are wondering how to create an application like this? What is required? What works best for your project? And do you need superpowers for it?

Graph Databases Fun With Java

Otavio Santana (Zup Innovation)

NoSQL databases have become more popular in several areas. NoSQL has many different uses, including graph use cases. The graph database has a structure pretty different from relational technology and has a lot of successful cases, such as recommendation systems on Facebook and LinkedIn. This presentation will cover what a graph database is and how to use it with Java.

Jakarta NoSQL: Meet the first Jakarta EE specification in the Cloud

Otavio Santana (Zup Innovation)

Jakarta NoSQL is the first specification of the new era of Java EE now in the Eclipse Foundation home as Jakarta EE. The goal of this specification is to ease integration to Java applications with a standard API that supports more than 30 NoSQL vendors and rising. This hands-on will show Jakarta NoSQL with MongoDB and introduce an easy way to move your application to the cloud age.

Jakarta EE Meets NoSQL in the Cloud Age

Werner Keil (Self Employed)

Let’s be honest: the amount of data collected by applications nowadays is growing at a scary pace. Many of them need to handle billions of users generating and consuming data at an incredible speed. Maybe you are wondering how to create an application like this? What is required? What benefits can you take from this reality to your project? This session shows how Jakarta EE can meet these needs when you’re working with NoSQL databases in the cloud. It’s the same approach used by some of the biggest companies in the world to store, analyze, and get results from really crazy amounts of data.

DBeaver: efficient way to work with SQL and NoSQL from Eclipse IDE.

Tatiana Krupenya (dbeaver.com)
Serge Rider (dbeaver.com)

Most of us, developers, use databases quite regularly.
SQL, NoSQL, flat-files, spreadsheets - it does not matter. We change our databases frequently. But we don't like to change our tools, we prefer to have one solid interface. Best option if our tools are integrated into our favorite IDE.
