Satellite images are providing valuable information to deal with many important task like precision farming, weather forecasting, land monitoring etc.

The satellite data is available (i.e. free from ESA, NASA and commercial high resolution from AIRBUS), and so the specific GIS-RS tools and on the other side powerful IT platforms.

However, in a container world, the performance gains are often negated due to CPU and memory consumption constraints.
