The automotive industry is witnessing tremendous ground breaking changes over the decades. The new age vehicles are equipped with more than 200 smart sensors to improve the efficiency and to cater to the ever increasing human demands and needs. With the rapid evolution of technology, self-driving cars no longer seem like a farfetched dream but something that can soon be mastered.
While this provides huge benefits, it has increased the complexity and leaves plenty of room for vulnerability and security threats. The need for a highly secure and efficient data management as well as it raises the need of distributed and trusted transactional eco-system is a necessity and has created an opportunity for using Distributed Ledger Technology ( DLT) such as Blockchain technology to address the challenges of connected car’s data security.
DLT introduces the concept of smart contracts in the form of small self-executable programs. These contracts enables to automate and monetize the valuable data, based on some predefined business rules. In the connected car industry, smart contracts can be embedded in FOTA (flash over the air) Blockchain to automatically release and transfer software updates safely to connected cars on the road.
At Bosch, we are developing a Framework that supports development, through DSL editors & validators and deployment, using compilation & debugging utilities, smart contracts for different types of DLT’s / blockchains such as Ethreum, HyperLedger Fabric etc.
The frameowrk enables developers to write smart contract once, test and execute it with multiple DLT / Blockchain framework Our goal is to propose this as an Eclipse project and do an initial contribution by October 2019.
In this talk I would like to introduce our Framework that we have developed and would contribute to the community. Also showcase the concepts, features and usage of this framework to the community

As I'm working in an automative domain , this seems to be an very interesting topic.
Futuristic!
