Tutorial

This tutorial session aims to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of building machine economies using blockchain technology and the Internet of Things (IoT). It is designed to cater to intermediate to advanced participants with a basic understanding of blockchain technology and Web3, IoT concepts, and some programming proficiency.

Attendees will embark on an exciting journey exploring the intersection of blockchain and IoT, unlocking the potential for decentralized and autonomous economic systems. Through a combination of theoretical discussions, and hands-on coding, attendees will gain valuable insights into the following key areas:

  1. Fundamental Concepts: fundamental concepts like device identities, trusted IoT data, decentralized consensus, and crypto-token economies. They will learn how to build projects where machines validate real-world facts and utilize blockchain-based token economies for incentivizing certain users behaviors such as running a decentralized infrastructure.

  2. Practical Use Cases: A real-world use case will be explored to showcase the concepts. Attendees will learn state-of-the-art techniques on how blockchain and IoT can be combined to create innovative solutions in areas such as network connectivity, energy grids, smart cities, and more.

  3. Development Skills: Participants will acquire practical development skills to design, develop, and deploy their own proof of concept based on a custom use case. They will gain hands-on experience with relevant tools, frameworks, and programming languages like new IoT SDKs, IoT decentralized protocols and smart contracts.

  4. Industry Insights: Attendees will be exposed to the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the realm of decentralized machine economies. They will learn about the challenges and best practices when designing these applications.

By the end of the session, attendees will have learned how to:

  • Leverage blockchain technology and decentralized protocols with IoT to construct machine economies.
  • Design device identities and establish secure IoT data flow within a decentralized system.
  • Implement trusted logic suitable for proving "facts" to blockchain smart contracts.
  • Create and manage token economies to incentivize participation and value exchange.
  • Develop their own proof of concept based on a custom use case, demonstrating the practical application of machine economies.

This session promises an exciting exploration of cutting-edge technologies and their potential to reshape economic systems. Attendees will leave inspired, equipped with valuable knowledge, and ready to embark on their own journey of building machine economies using blockchain and IoT.

Objective of the presentation:
This tutorial aims to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of leveraging blockchain technology and decentralized protocols with IoT to construct machine economies. By the end of the session, participants will have the knowledge and tools to design, develop, and deploy their own proof of concept based on a custom use case. The tutorial covers essential concepts such as device identities, trusted IoT data, decentralized consensus, token economies, and practical use cases, empowering attendees to create innovative and autonomous economic systems using blockchain and IoT.
