Open Source Best Practices
Session Type:
Standard

Join us for a live panel discussion with InnerSource practitioners! InnerSource is the application of the best open source practices within the walls of corporations. Although this does not necessarily means that companies will produce open source, this includes a journey where developers, middle managers, and chief level will be closer to understanding and behaving as if they were producing open source.

The audience is expected to have a live discussion with the panelists as well as insights on the perils and promises of InnerSource at the European level. They will also have the opportunity to engage with other InnerSource community members.

Topics will include real internal use cases, discussions on challenges at the European level, and insights on how InnerSource is driving a cultural change in those companies in particular and in a more general level at the InnerSource Commons.

Objective of the presentation:
This panel aims to provide an introduction to InnerSource benefits and how large corporations are facing this cultural change with its challenges and strategies. The session is expected to be interactive and dynamic with the audience, where questions and answers will be encouraged. InnerSource is one of the most remarkable ways to encourage open source ways of thinking and behaving within the confines of the organizations. This live discussion will share thoughts on this, where a mix of large organizations (Bosch and Mercedes-Benz) and members of the InnerSource Commons Foundation will be part. As real-life use cases in the InnerSource adoption and management will be shared with the audience, the panelists hope this will be useful as lessons learned based on past experiences so others can start building and avoid running into the same initial issues.
