For data economy to reach its full potential, having trust among participants is one of the essential cornerstones. But how does one get trust in the digital world of today? That’s where Gaia-X comes in, and it starts with transparency. Just like English is widely spoken worldwide and used by default in most international contexts, we need a common “language” to discover, negotiate and exchange data between businesses or people in a transparent, interoperable and sovereign manner while avoiding the hurdles of proprietary non-scalable solutions.
In Gaia-X we define governance for a transparent trustworthy environment, a catalog to discover data and services, a policy to negotiate and enforce rules and an ontology to have a terminology and a clear relation between entities.
In this presentation, we’ll briefly go over the technical overview of what Gaia-X is and how any Dataspace can benefit from using it. A practical demonstration will also be included, to show how a software stack (Eclipse Dataspace Components) among others can be extended with Gaia-X functionality, providing more transparency and therefore trust.
