Liberty Bikes is a four player, elimination game built using the latest technologies of Java EE 8 and MicroProfile 3.0. Come build your first (or 100th) microservice as you create an AI to compete in a battle royale against your fellow attendees. In this lab, you will develop a complete microservice, leveraging MicroProfile Rest Client to seamlessly integrate and communicate with an existing application. Can you become champion of the grid?
Objective of the presentation:
The purpose of this session is to create a fun environment for attendees to learn or enhance their skills in developing microservices. This lab is very flexible in terms of required knowledge. It is welcoming for a beginner who has never created a microservice before; we have the framework ready to dive straight into the code. An advanced attendee may want to set everything up themself, which we heartily welcome as well. They may forego the framework entirely and program their microservice in whatever language they wish as long as they can connect to our base application. Attendees will learn how to use MicroProfile Rest Client to consume cross service RESTful APIs and easily integrate a microservice into an existing application ecosystem.
