SOAFEE is an industry led consortim of ecosystem partners in the Automotive domain. They have come together to work collaboratively and upstream in standards organizations to ensure that the lessons learnt and tooling created when the Cloud Service Provides transitioned from monolithic applications to software defined and equally be applied in the automotive transition to software defined.
As we move towards the vision of a software defined vehicle, more of the overall cost of a deployed system will be expressed in the software that enables it. As this software becomes more complex, we are also facing the problem that the underlying system architecture is also becoming more complex. We need to understand how to decouple the software and hardware complexity, whilst creating portable and reusable software components in order to manage the costs, quality and time to market of a software defined vehicle.
The ultimate aim of SOAFEE is to enable the automoive ecosystem to create re-usable software components that can be deployed quickly and easly to any SOAFEE compliant system, whilst allowing these workloads to seamlessly make use of all available resouces.
At the end of the presentation, you will see how SOAFEE is working collaboratively with members of the Eclipse SDV project and others to enable adoption of cloud-native techniques in the automotive domain.
