Broadening Access to What-is, What-was, and What-could-be for COVID-19

Oliver Bent (Student)
Sekou Remy (IBM Research)
James Kaufman (IBM)
Werner Keil (Self Employed)

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted epidemiological models, especially compartmental models, to support insight generation and decision-making. The use of epidemiological models is not new, however many new communities are being introduced to their utility, and their potential. While there is an abundance of data, and several dashboard examples to present their insights, there are still very few mechanisms which are being used to leverage available data with models.

In Dan Brown's bestselling thriller, Inferno, world-renowned art historian Robert Langdon raced across southern Europe, trying to prevent the spread of a highly infectious novel virus that threatens to circle the globe in less than a week.
In 2020 not far from the filming locations, Italy became one of the worst affected places by the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Generating FPGA bitstreams using Eclipse CHE

Xavier Martorell (Barcelona Supercomputing Center)

I will show the code development with OmpSs@FPGA. It takes high level C/C++ code with directives, and it uses a docker container with the OmpSs installation under Eclipse CHE to automatically generate the CPU and FPGA binary and bitstream for the target board.

Acceleo 4 ever

Yvan Lussaud (OBEO)

Model-to-text generation has been an early goal of the modeling approach, in order to leverage models for generating source code, configuration files, documentation, etc. In the EMF ecosystem, Acceleo provides this capacity as a template-based language that has been part of the Eclipse release train since 2009.
As a consequence of its maturity, Acceleo has been under maintenance in the last few years, meaning it has also been very stable.

Benefits of seamlessly exchanging EMF data model across programming languages

Zakir Meer (Robert Bosch GmbH)

Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) is commonly used to build domain model (ECORE), which becomes as a platform to establish the echo system of the tools around it (data loader, serializer, editors, validations etc.,)

Examples of such domain models are :

NXP S32Design Studio Eclipse CDT based IDE for Automotive world

Sergei Kovalchuk (NXP USA, Inc.)

I would like to introduce the NXP S32Design Studio  Eclipse CDT based IDE for the Automotive world.

Would you like to know how to combine and adopt Eclipse Technology for IDE creating?

Would you like to know what S32Design Studio is?

How is it oriented on NXP automotive market?

What benefits on using IDE for automotive?

Level of knowledge:  Basic knowledge of IDE and Eclipse CTD

Attenders can learn:  What IDE includes from Eclipse Technologies side, what feature supported for NXP Automotive processors programming.

Advanced Sirius

Pierre-Charles David (OBEO)

This talk is targeted to people who have already used Sirius, at least to create simple modelers, and are curious to know more about what Sirius can do and how it works internally to move beyond the basics.

Sirius Free Diagrams: a One-Size-Fits-All Solution

William Piers (OBEO)
Nicolas Vannier

A graphical editor built with Sirius is usually dedicated to a given domain model. It allows to rapidly create specific editors, but you have to redo the work for each domain model, even when the diagrams are similar.

The Free Diagram Editor is an attempt to make a ready-to-use graphical editor that works with any domain model.

This editor provides generic tools and mappings to represent any EMF-based metamodel. These generic tools dynamically analyze the EClasses to offer the user different choices of actions depending on the context.
