A New Record for Proposals!

A huge thank you to the community for proposing so many interesting talks. We look forward to putting together another amazing program. Speakers will be notified by early August.

Early-Bird Talks: A Preview of What's to Come

The community really came though for the early-bird deadline this year. The program committee reviewed a record number of talks (144) to come up with a top-six list.

Congratulations to the speakers chosen for early acceptance! And remember, the final deadline is Monday, July 15, so there's still lots of time to submit your proposal.

Registration Is Open

Our new system is ready, and we have opened registration. Please note these new features, especially if you have registered in the past. The process has changed!

  • We are using Single-Sign-On (SSO) for logging into the registration system. If you already have an account, you will log in using that instead of creating a separate account that is just used for registration. If you need to create an account, simply visit this page. SSO is not only more convenient, but also provides better security for your data.
  • When registering, you may choose a Four-Day Pass that includes Community Day on Monday, or a Three-Day Pass for Tuesday through Thursday. You may also choose to register for a One-Day Pass for any of the four days of the conference, and you may combine One-Day Passes as well.
  • The "typical" discounts for speakers, sponsors, members, committers, alumni, etc. are applied to a Three-Day Pass. If you use one of these discounts and choose a Four-Day Pass, you will owe a small balance to cover the cost of Community Day.
  • We are again offering substantial discounts for Special-Rate Attendees. The system allows you to apply for these discounts during the registration process, and the approval process is also automatic.
  • Please be sure to read the details on the website Registration page, including the step-by-step process that describes the new sytem.
  • We look forward to seeing you at EclipseCon Europe / OSGi Community Event in October!

Get Acquainted With Sprotty at EclipseCon Europe

by Jan Koehnlein

Sprotty is a graphical framework that allows interactive diagrams in web-applications. It has a strong emphasis on usability, customizability and modern rendering. While being completely usable in standalone applications, Sprotty is also very easy to use in a distributed client-server environment. As such, it nicely plays the graphical counterpart in the Language Server Protocol.

Sponsor Testimonial: Typefox

Autumn time is EclipseCon time! Eclipse has evolved from a pure Java IDE, over a platform for tool integration on the desktop, towards an incubation tank for modern cloud-based development tooling. If you search for the place where all flavors of development tools and frameworks are concentrating, it’s here. We are happy that our latest cloud-based endeavors, Theia and Sprotty, found a home under the Eclipse umbrella.

Q - If you had to choose a theme to watch at the conference, what would it be?

A new trending topic at EclipseCon is definitely the growing interest into web-based tools. It is interesting for projects, whether web-based tooling is already a valid alternative and if so when and how to migrate. A lot of this interest is focussed around Eclipse Theia ..
