Mobile devices are everywhere! In the last years Smartphones and tablets have become ubiquitous. This also means that mobile browsers are more and more important because people can surf the web from everywhere. All this different devices and resolutions are a challenge for UI designers.

When doing common web-design you can use all kind of CSS frameworks and magic to create a responsive design. But what about SWT applications?

SWT is a cross-platform UI toolkit. Since the first release of Eclipse RAP it’s also used to write web applications. But you can’t use the layouting techniques known from common web-desgin with it. So, how can we write SWT applications that fit in todays world?

In this workshop we will transform a static SWT application to a modern and responsive application. We will face topics like:

  • dynamic SWT layouts
  • dynamic images
  • flexible colors
  • font adjustments

After this workshop you will be able to create or refactor your existing SWT application to be modern and responsive!
