The new release of Java 8 will be available in March 2014. To celebrate, the Eclipse Foundation and Oracle are hosting a Java 8 Day at EclipseCon 2014. This will be a great opportunity for Java developers to learn about the new Java 8 features and share in the excitement of the Java 8 launch.
The Java 8 Day will feature experts from Oracle and the Eclipse community, including
- George Saab, VP of Oracle Java Platform Group will kick-off the day with an introduction to Java 8,
- Alex Buckley, Oracle spec lead for the Java language will provide the details on Java 8 lambda support, and
- Stephan Hermann, Eclipse JDT committer who will discuss how Eclipse JDT will support Java 8 type annotations
- plus other technical talks.
Java 8 Day will take place Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport. It costs only $200 to register for this event. EclipseCon attendees with an All-Access Pass may attend the talks included in the Java 8 Launch Day.
