Gaëtan Séverac’s childhood heroes were Gaston Lagaffe and MacGyver, so naturally he went to engineering school and later earned a PhD in robotics. He is co-founder of Naïo Technologies and lives in Toulouse, France.
Manfred Broy is a professor of computer science at Technische Universität München, where his research topics include system development processes and tool support, concurrent and embedded systems, and theoretical foundation of informatics. He is also the co-founder of several start-ups, and a member of acatech, the German National Academy of Science and Engineering.
One of Professor Broy’s main interests is the role of software in a networked world. He is leading a Federal Ministry of Research study of Cyber-Physical Systems to investigatethe implications and potential of the next stage of global networking that combines cyberspace with embedded systems.
