What is Zenoh-Flow?

Zenoh-Flow is data flow on Zenoh. Zenoh-Flow provides the capability to structure a complex application into several computing units forming a graph. Zenoh-Flow will take care of the deployment of this graph in a location transparent manner without any user interaction. This helps application developers to solely focus on their core business logic.

What can you expect from this presentation?

You will have a better understanding of how Zenoh-Flow works and what it provides, illustrated with an internal project where we ported an Autonomous Driving platform, Pylot, on Zenoh-Flow.

What is the motivation for this talk?

The rise of 5G, the Internet of Things, Autonomous Driving and V2X, Robotic and R2X, make complex applications (with many, scattered, components) require more structure and better abstractions.

We believe Zenoh-Flow is a concrete step in that direction and we would like to share our vision & first success.

Objective of the presentation:
The goal of this presentation is to showcase the synergies between (i) data flow programming, that allows structuring complex applications by explicitly defining a graph of nodes, and (ii) Eclipse Zenoh, a state-of-the-art edge-native technology, that brings location transparency and efficient communications. This combination, called Zenoh-Flow, is well suited for novel Cloud-to-Thing use-cases, illustrated with our improvements on Pylot, an Autonomous Driving platform.
