There is perhaps no greater shared challenge facing our world today than climate change. If we are to address this issue, we must collectively improve the technologies we both create and use to help improve the world. From increasing their energy efficiency to using them for protecting the wild, open source has a key role to play in building technologies for a sustainable future.
Objective of the presentation:
In this talk we explore the challenges facing the world today, such as from a Biodiversity perspective and the Energy crisis impacts for energy consumption and Co2 emissions. We focus on how open source must meet this challenge holistically, with open source playing a key part of the technology stack from Cloud to Edge to the Devices we use every day. We look at how open source projects such as Oniro may take on this challenge and work with the Eclipse Foundation community in driving positive change collectively.
