Registration and Your Privacy
As part of the registration process, we ask for your consent to email you about future events and offerings. If you give your consent, please note that you can withdraw your consent on each communication you receive from us with a dedicated link. We also seek your consent to share your information with our sponsors so they can contact you regarding their respective services and offerings. Should you grant this consent, then your personal data will be protected under their privacy policies, and if you wish to withdraw consent, you would have to make your request directly to them.
Eclipse Foundation will retain a record of your registration for its records, including for accounting purposes, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please see our privacy statement for further information.
EclipseCon has selected Swapcard as the conference mobile app provider. After you register for EclipseCon, information you provide during registration will be added automatically to the mobile app. This will enable you to login to the Swapcard app prior to and during the event.
By default, your profile will be visible to other attendees in the app, and the following information will be displayed in your Swapcard profile: First name, Last name, Job title, Company, and Country. If you complete these optional fields, they will also be part of your Swapcard profile: Twitter username, LinkedIn ID, and Website URL. After you log in to the Swapcard app, you may choose to update your profile as well as change your Swapcard visibility status.
Note that your email address is not visible in your Swapcard profile. However, if you choose to make a connection with another attendee through the app, your Swapcard data, including your email address, will be shared with the other attendee.
Event sponsors may use the Swapcard app to scan attendee badges. If you allow a sponsor to scan your badge, your Swapcard data, including your email address, will be shared with the sponsor.
How do I register?
The simple answer is that you click on the "REGISTER NOW" button on the Registration page. Please read the information on that page before registering, especially the part about discounts. For details about each type of discount, please read the section that corresponds to your discount on this FAQs page.
Once you have clicked on the button and have accessed the registration form, start by entering your personal information, and then choosing a Pass Type. Complete your registration by answering the questions that follow, entering your payment information, and then clicking on "Register" at the end. You will receive an email confirmation when your registration is complete. Details on Pass Types are on the Registration page.
What are the registration fees?
Registration fees vary; please see the fee table on the Registration page.
Do I need to pre-register for the sessions I want to attend?
No. You may attend any talk or activity that is scheduled for the days that are covered by your pass.
What payment methods can I use?
EclipseCon accepts payments via credit card only.
What currency does EclipseCon accept?
All payments must be made in euros.
Who gets a discount on registration?
Lots of people get discounts: Eclipse members, Eclipse committers, EclipseCon alumni, press, students, non-corporate attendees, freelancers, academics, researchers, speakers, and sponsors. For more information on discounts, see the Registration page and the Speaker FAQs, or read below. Please note that different types of discounts may not be combined.
Do you have group discounts?
We can offer discounts to groups of five (5) or more people from the same organization. The larger the group, the bigger the discount (up to a point!). Please note that group discounts cannot be applied retroactively and can not be combined with other discounts, such as member, speaker, etc. Only registrants not receiving another type of discount "count" toward the group discount. Please email us for more information on group discounts.
How do I register with a sponsor discount?
If you're a sponsor, we love you, and we prove it by sending you regular emails. We will send you an email with information about how to register with your Coupon Code. If you're reading this and it is past early September and you don't recall seeing the email, please email us. If you plan to register with a sponsor discount, please do NOT register until you have your Coupon Code.
How do I register with a speaker discount?
Speaker discounts are implemented via Coupon Code. If you join the hallowed ranks of accepted speakers and qualify for the discount, your Coupon Code will be emailed to you when registration opens in mid-July. Please note that to register with a speaker discount, you must be the first speaker on a talk. For more on this topic, please see the Speaker FAQs.
How do I register with a Non-corporate / Freelance discount?
We know that not everyone has their registration fees paid by their employers. For those of you who come to EclipseCon and pay your own fees, we are able to offer a limited number of of discounted passes. Please email us for more information.
How do I register with a Student discount?
A limited number of discounted passes are available for college and university students. To ask for a student discount, please email us.
How do I register with an Academic / Researcher discount?
A limited number of discounted passes are available for college and university staff, and those working in research. To ask for a this discount, please email us.
How do I register with a Press & Analyst discount?
We offer free registration to pre-qualified press and analysts. Please email us for more information and pre-qualification.
How do I know if I am an Eclipse member, and how do I register with a member discount?
A person is an Eclipse member as per the Eclipse Bylaws. The short version is that a member is an employee of an Eclipse member company. A mostly up-to-date list of the member companies is available on the Eclipse website. If you are not sure if your employer is an Eclipse member, please feel free to ask us. If you would like your company to become a member, please have the appropriate DMP (decision-making person) contact the Eclipse Foundation. There are many benefits of membership including discounted registration to EclipseCon.
Register as a member by entering the Coupon Code MEMBER in the Coupon Code box on the registration page.
How do I know if I am an Eclipse committer, and how do I register with a committer discount?
We're pretty sure you know if you are an Eclipse committer. But we'll give you the official answer anyway. A committer is developer on an Eclipse project who has commit rights to the corresponding eclipse.org code repository. All committers have unix accounts on dev.eclipse.org, so if you don't have an account there, then you are not a committer. If you would like to become a committer, the best way to start is to contact the project lead of an interesting project; committers are elected by their peers based on the quantity and quality of their contributions to an Eclipse project. It's a role to be proud of, and an honor not given lightly.
Register as a committer by entering the Coupon Code COMMITTER in the Coupon Code box on the registration page. (And don't you feel proud to be a committer after that description of your role?)
How do I know if I qualify as an alumnus, and how do I register with an alumni discount?
If you have attended an EclipseCon in the past, welcome back! Register by entering the Coupon Code ALUMNI in the Coupon Code on the registration page.
How can I cancel my registration if my plans change?
Please email us to cancel your registration. If received by October 5, 2022 we will cancel your registration and refund your payment in full. No refund can be given for cancellation requests received on or after October 6, 2022. No-shows are liable for the entire conference fee. If EclipseCon 2022 is cancelled or rescheduled, attendees may request a refund, or they may choose to apply their payment to the rescheduled event. We recommend booking refundable travel, since we cannot reimburse attendees for travel expenses.
Can I transfer my registration to another person?
If you register and then are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person.
Please email us to substitute another person. Please try to transfer your registration no later than October 15 if possible.
Is there a way to add a Coupon Code after I completed my registration?
If you completed your registration, but forgot to enter a Coupon Code, please email us and we will add the Coupon Code to your registration.
