The Dawn project, a sub component of CDO, is focused on enhancing your existing user interfaces with collaborative functions like real-time shared editing, conflict visualization and resolution, authentication, authorization or locking. With Dawn you can easily generate a number of OSGi fragments that enhance your exiting editors (EMF, GMF, Graphiti,...) to be truly collaborative. An add-on benefit of these collaboration fragments is that they enable you to deploy your application to a web server, thereby exposing the viewing and editing capabilities of your editors to the web; with no extra effort on your end.
This talk will briefly introduce the technical principles of Dawn and its current state of development. A live presentation will demonstrate how easy it can be to turn your model-based application into something truly collaborative.
