Most people see BIRT as a Report Designer built on top of Eclipse and while this is true, it is also so much more! BIRT is comprised of many components that can be employed in extremely different ways in various applications. This presentation will walk you through the architecture of BIRT describing the plethora of constituent parts that make BIRT a Framework. In each of these areas, the public APIs, specific usage scenarios and general performance suggestions will be detailed.
