Overview (4 min)
Since Eclipse Galileo its much easier to work with Target Platforms, but many developers still install all Plug-ins into the IDE, because handling of Target Platforms wasn't intuitive in previous releases.
ekke will give you some hints how to decide what goes into the IDE and what should be part of a Target Platform.
Live Demo (6 min)
At first let us see how easy it is to create a Target Platform.
ekke will then demonstrate how to use some cool Views available in Galileo and Helios to inspect and analyze your Plug-ins, Services, ExtensionPoints, Dependencies...
get all informations about your Plug-ins inside the running IDE and also all Plug-ins which are part of the active Target Platform.
After this demonstration it should be easier to understand the differences between IDE- and Target Platform- Plug-ins and how to solve problems.
