The Eclipse Modeling Project continues to play a key role in demonstrating the pragmatic benefit of model driven development in all aspects of software development. A wide range of organizations, large and small, commercial and academic, as well as passionate and dedicated individuals drive its development. It is arguably Eclipse's most diverse project and continues to be the fastest growing. In previous years, the Modeling Symposium at Eclipse Summit Europe attracted a broad spectrum of attendees interested in sharing their ideas and in learning about the activities of others in the community. For this year, we plan a series of lightning talks and short demos to spark lively group discussion. It will be great opportunity to meet and greet and to reflect on past accomplishments as well as to chart a course for the future.

Sven Efftinge (itemis) leads an Eclipse open-source developer lab in Kiel. He is project lead of the Xtext framework at eclipse.org and the original architect of the Xpand language family (a.k.a. openArchitectureWare 4). Sven is also a speaker at software conferences, co-author of a book and writes articles for magazines.
