Eclipse Summit Europe 2010 is over, but we have left this page here so you can read about our policies.

Tutorials and Symposia

Tuesday, November 2 is "Tutorial and Symposium Day" at ESE. These sessions are open to all ESE attendees at no extra cost, though pre-registration is required and attendance is limited. Registration for tutorials and symposia will open in September. If you register before then, you may add one of these sessions later – we'll send email to let you know when it's time to do that. Please note that pre-registration does not guarantee a reserved seat in a session, but it does help us schedule the more popular sessions into the bigger rooms. For the technical sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, no pre-registration is required – your conference registration is enough.

Eclipse Members and Committers

Eclipse members and committers qualify for a 15% thanks-for-being-a-member-or-committer coupon code. When registering, please use the coupon code MEMBER or COMMITTER.

Sponsors

Sponsors receive two free registrations as part of the sponsorship package. These free registrations are provided through coupon codes that are emailed to sponsors after mid-July. Please follow the instructions for sponsors regarding your code. Please do not register before receiving your coupon code. Sponsors are, of course, welcome to bring more than two people to Eclipse Summit Europe, but the third, fourth, and so on must register and pay as normal conference attendees.

Speakers

Some ESE speakers receive a discount on registration fees; your acceptance email from the submission system will tell you more. Please see the instructions for speakers for more information. Please do not register before receiving your coupon code. Note that speaker discounts may not be combined for those presenters giving more than one talk, or combined with member, committer, or alumni discounts.

Press & Analysts

Pre-qualified press & analysts are provided free conference registrations. To be qualified or for more information, please contact us. Please do not register until you receive approval and a coupon code.

Only one discount per person (we'll give you the maximum discount possible). All discount registrations are provided through coupon codes. If you are press, a speaker, or a sponsor, please wait for your coupon code before registering; please do not register until you have received your coupon code.

Policies

  • One speaker for each accepted talk may register with a discount via a code. Additional speakers must register and pay at the normal conference attendee price. All speakers must register for the conference. Eclipse Summit Europe does not reimburse travel or housing.
  • The symposia and tutorials are free additional sessions at Eclipse Summit Europe. Pre-registration (via the online registration form) is required, and attendance is limited. These sessions are only open to attendees who are registered for the conference. If you register early – before pre-registration for these sessions is open – you may add these later; we will email you detailed instructions when symposium and tutorial registration opens.
  • Press & Analyst registration is an all-access pass for pre-qualified press and analysts. Interested parties should contact us for information and pre-qualification.
  • All of our student passes have been used.

Payment Policies

Eclipse Summit Europe 2010 accepts credit cards in US dollars (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover), wire transfers in euros, purchase orders, and checks imprinted with a US address.

Wire Transfers

Payments Received

Registrations are not active and your attendance is not guaranteed until the funds are received by the Eclipse Foundation.

With credit card registrations, we receive the funds immediately so your registration becomes active immediately. With wire transfer registrations, some banks are quicker than others, although in general wire transfers are a prompt way for us to receive the funds. With purchase orders, please make sure that your company pays the purchase order promptly because we cannot activate your registration until we have received the funds. Note that the extra paperwork involved with purchase orders (on your company's side) may cause significant delay in activating your registration.

If paying by check (please note that checks must be imprinted with a US address), the check must be received at the address below by October 22, 2010. After that point, you must bring the check to the registration desk on site in order for your registration to be activated.

Eclipse Member

A member is an Eclipse member as per the Eclipse Bylaws. The short version is that a member is an employee of an Eclipse member company. A mostly up-to-date list of the member companies is available on the Eclipse website. If you are not sure if your employer is an Eclipse member, please feel free to ask us. If you would like your company to become a member, please have the appropriate DMP (decision-making person) contact the Eclipse Foundation. There are many benefits of membership including discounted registration to Eclipse Summit Europe and EclipseCon.

Eclipse Committer

A committer is developer on an Eclipse project who has commit rights to the corresponding eclipse.org CVS repository. If you don't know if you are a committer, then you are not a committer. All committers have unix accounts on dev.eclipse.org, so if you don't have an account there, then you are not a committer. If you would like to become a committer, the best way to start is to contact the project lead of an interesting project -- committers are elected by their peers based on the quantity and quality of their contributions to an Eclipse project. It's a role to be proud of, and it's a honor not given lightly.

Cancellations

Because the Eclipse Foundation incurs certain expenses prior to the conference, it is necessary to impose the following cancellation policy.

All cancellations must be received in writing or by email. If received before October 15, 2010, a $50 processing fee will be incurred. No refund of any kind, for any reason (including medical emergencies) will be given for cancellation requests received after October 15, 2010. No-shows are liable for the entire conference fee.

Registration transfers are allowed, but we must receive notification by October 22 via email, in writing, or by fax to (+1) 503-261-0964. This request must include the name of the person who is currently registered and the name, email, and organization of the person replacing the registered attendee.

The Eclipse Foundation reserves the right to cancel the event or substitute speakers. In the unlikely event that the Eclipse Foundation should have to cancel Eclipse Summit Europe 2010, conference attendees will be refunded for the amount paid for the conference, but the Eclipse Foundation is not responsible for any attendee's other related expenses, including hotel and travel. Refunds will be issued within 15 business days after the scheduled conclusion of the conference.

Sorry, but the Eclipse Foundation cannot, and does not, make exceptions to these policies.
