The best way to extend the power of Eclipse-based tools is by building plug-ins. This workshop provides the best education from the top experts: the guys who literally wrote the book on the subject. In addition to introducing the basics of plug-in development, the instructors will show you how to add the sophistication and “polish” that your end users demand. In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of plug-in development, with specific solutions for the challenges participants will most likely encounter. Session content is based on the third edition of the best-selling "Eclipse plug-ins" book, co-authored by Rubel, as well as Eric Clayberg. It includes topics ranging from Eclipse commands to the PDE Build process. The workshop is split between lecture and hands-on lab work and has been updated to encompass the Eclipse 3.5 “Galileo” platform. (Please bring a laptop with Eclipse installed.)

Dan Rubel, CTO and co-founder of Instantiations, Inc., is an expert in the design and application of object-oriented technologies with more than fifteen years of commercial software development experience, including thirteen years of experience with Java and nine years with Eclipse. Third Edition released in December 2008, ISBN: 0-321-55346-2
