CANCELLED: m2eclipse: Present and Future

Jason Van Zyl

New & Noteworthy Talks · Short
Wednesday, 15:00, 25 minutes | Seminarräume 1-4

m2eclipse provides a robust and mature solution for integrating Maven with the Eclipse IDE. Recently accepted into the Eclipse incubator, m2eclipse continues on a path to be the de-facto standard for Maven users and Maven integrators. Features unique to m2eclipse , such as the POM editor and full integration with Nexus, dramatically reduce the Maven learning curve and give full access to numerous Maven repositories around the world. The Configurator Framework unifies the IDE with automated, headless environments by synchronizing Eclipse preferences for technologies like AJDT and WTP with their Maven counterparts.

This presentation reviews and demonstrates the features that currently exist in m2eclipse, and leads into a discussion of the current roadmap. We will also discuss the current effort and collaboration with Adobe to integrate Flex with m2eclipse, and we will introduce an expanded vision of project materialization encompassing much more than just source and binary dependencies and including issues and documentation to provide a unique developer “on-boarding” solution that will decrease downtime and increasing developer mobility.
