The Web Tools Platform (WTP) project is a top-level project at Eclipse. It provides tooling and instruments for Web and Java EE development. The WTP project is a traditional member in the Eclipse release trains and relates to other major Eclipse project: it is based on projects like the Eclipse Platform, the Eclipse Modeling Platform and the Data Tools Platform, but also provides functionality to other projects like the PHP Development Tools and the SOA Tools Platform. In the same time the WTP project is adopted, extended and customized by many commercial products.

This talk will give an overview the new features and improvements that come with WTP 3.0 that is part of the Eclipse Ganymede release. It will cover all areas like Java EE, JSF, JPA and Web Service tooling as well as Source Editors, Server tools and what's cooking in the Incubator. We will also take a look in the planned topics for the next development cycle of the WTP project.
