If you ever wanted to create your custom Eclipse download, this is now possible with the new EPP wizard. Based on technology from the RAP, Equinox, and p2 projects, this web-based wizard allows the creation of a custom installer that will download and install all the necessary pieces on your disk. See how this system works and how it can be extended.

The Usage Data Collector (UDC) is included in all EPP Ganymede packages that are available for download from the main Eclipse download page. This piece of software helps you to learn from your users. We show you how this can be done and how to use the UDC in a server-side RAP environment with a real Ajax-enabled web application.

Markus Knauer works as Eclipse developer and consultant at Innoopract Information Systems. There he is involved in the development of the Yoxos Eclipse Distribution and is working on multiple projects developing Eclipse-based SDKs. He is project lead of the Eclipse Packaging Project, co-lead of the g-Eclipse project, and a member of the Eclipse Planning and Architecture Councils.

Darko Varju studies Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences in Karlsruhe. He works for Innoopract where he is involved in the development of the Yoxos-on-Demand and several Single Sourcing projects. His thesis covered an implementation and enablement of the EPP UDC for RAP environments.
