Doug Clarke

New & Noteworthy Talks · Short
Wednesday, 17:25, 25 minutes | Bürgersaal 1

Performance, scalability, and flexibility are priorities for enterprise Java applications in which relational and XML persistence account for a significant portion of the application’s performance. The Eclipse Persistence Services project (EclipseLink) delivers a high-performance and tunable implementation of leading persistence standards, including JPA and JAXB. The EclipseLink project is based on the full contribution of Oracle's TopLink product and brings to the Eclipse community the best persistence solution based on well over a decade of commercial use. This session introduces the EclipseLink 1.0.1 release and highlights its many advanced features. Attendees will learn how they can easily develop high performance Java applications. In addition this session will highlight how the extensible caching can be used to deploy JPA applications across a highly scalable grid.

Doug Clarke is a Director of Product Management for Oracle Application Server's Java Persistence solutions and the co-lead of the Eclipse Persistence Services Project (EclipseLink). Doug has extensive enterprise development, consulting, and educational field experience in the areas of object-relational persistence, data access, and systems integration. He brings together concrete experiences from projects of various sizes and industries with a practical approach to design, testing, and performance tuning.
