The Eclipse Higgins project is best known for its wallet-like selector applications that let you manage and use i-cards as a metaphor for slices of your online identity. However, under the cover, Higgins is a diverse and interconnected collection of components and solutions. From a well thought out underlying semantic data model at the bottom, to middle-tier libraries for identity providers and relying parties, to user frontends on the top, Higgins provides customizable building blocks for all parts of the emerging identity layer. This ESE 2008 contribution will give an overview of basic Higgins concepts, most common deployment scenarios and some of the latest development efforts such as relationship cards.

I have been with Parity Communications (http://www.parity.com) for about a year, working on several components of the Eclipse Higgins project. I am from Vienna/Austria.
