An Equinox Hackathon was run over the course of the Summit. This session wraps up of the Hackathon and presents the results. After a brief introduction to the idea and goals of the event, the focus shifts to the participants, what they created, what they learned and their experiences in doing the work.

Hendrik Hoefer is founder and technical director of MicroDoc GmbH (www.microdoc.com), a company dedicated to Java in the enterprise and embedded space. He has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry especially in the software architecture and communication space. His interests include programming languages, distributed systems and open source software. Hendrik Hoefer is an active contributor in the Eclipse community (eclipse.org) and board member of the Open Source Business Foundation (osbf.de).

Jeff McAffer leads the Eclipse Equinox OSGi, RCP and Orbit teams and is the Founder of Code 9. He is one of the architects of the Eclipse Platform and a co-author of The Eclipse Rich Client Platform (Addison-Wesley). He co-leads the RT Project PMC and is a member of the Eclipse Project PMC, the Tools Project PMC and the Eclipse Architecture Council and is a Director on the Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors. Jeff is currently interested all aspects of Eclipse componentry from developing and building bundles to deploying, installing and ultimately running them. Previous lives include being a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM and work in distributed/parallel OO computing (Server Smalltalk, massively parallel Smalltalk, etc) as well as expert systems, meta-level architectures and a PhD at the University of Tokyo.
