DESCRIPTION

The development of embedded software in the automotive domain requires to deal with an increasing number of artefacts like requirements, analysis and design models, validation rules, configuration and calibration parameters or code and an increasing complexity managing the entire car lifecycle. Eclipse open source technology is providing unprecedented opportunities for building and integrating development tools for the automotive domain. Especially Eclipse Modeling, JDT, CDT, DSDP and OSEE deliver excellent starting points and solutions. A steadily increasing number of commercial tool vendors offer Eclipse based tools e.g. AUTOSAR tool providers and Embedded Operating Systems vendors who offer Eclipse based Workbenches & IDEs. Other open source projects relevant to the automotive domain like TOPCASED are also based on Eclipse.

The purpose of the Eclipse Automotive Symposium is to explore present or future applications of the Eclipse platform in the automotive industry, research and education.

PARTICIPATION

In order to participate, you have to write a position paper (minimum two pages, maximum ten pages) that raises an issue, describes a problem or sketches a solution that should be discussed at the forum.

The contribution may be provided in PDF format only, should be licensed under EPL and needs to be sent to the organizers (see below) by Nov 5.
