eSWT is one of the components introduced by eRCP project, but its use goes beyond eRCP in the mobile java arena. This talk introduces what eSWT brings to the mobile java, explains some of the many new features that provide value to developers. The talk will also demonstrate how eSWT can be used with java ME midlets. Further same application will be converted to an eRCP application that runs on the desktop and mobile, and finally it will be converted to an AJAX application using eclipse RAP. The talk will also include an update on the eRCP project and highlights about the next years’ roadmap.

Gorkem Ercan is a senior software engineer at Nokia’s java platform team. He is the project lead for the embedded Rich Client Platform (eRCP) project and is also a committer for the Web Tools Platform (WTP) project.
