Martin Oberhuber
The Target Management project provides a framework, widgets and tools to manage remote systems
under a single, consistent user interface. Ready-to-use tools for remote file system and shell access as
well as launching remote CDT applications can be used from device software development to
mainframe operations.
APIs allow vendors to plug in their own connection schemes and system or subsystem types. This talk
will give an overview of the Target Management project's scope, vision and goals, and highlight some
examples of commercial adoption. Well focus on new additions developed during the Europa
Timeframe like the EFS Integration and the Terminal framework, and explain our roadmap for the 2008
coordinated release in detail. Special emphasis will be given on overlap, usage or integration with other
Eclipse projects.
A demo will show what Target Management looks like in practice, explain important concepts and how
users can extend the framework.
Martin is the leader of the DSDP - Target Management project and is a member of the Eclipse Architecture Council. Driven by his
desire for constant improvement, he is involved in many areas around Eclipse. Martin holds an MS degree in Telematics from the
University of Technology Graz/Austria, and has been working for Wind River in Salzburg, Austria since 1999.
