This consumer story describe the realization of a full toolset dedicated to the customer business. This toolset now brings automation and quality in his development process. Using GMF, EMF and Acceleo we provided specific modelers and software factories targeting their own framework.

Other needs arised like custom refactoring operations, modelers customization to bring a better usability or specific wizards.

In this talk we will discuss the whole process of creating a dedicated development environment and evaluate the benefits and traps appearing when applying this approach.

Cédric Brun is a Research Engineer at Obeo and Project Lead of the EMF compare project in Eclipse. In charge of the Acceleo community, he also works on software evolution, re-engineering and cartography of legacy systems through model driven processes. He has graduated both the Polytech engineering school and a research Master at the University of Nantes, and has specialized himself in software engineering and model driven engineering. Prior to his current jobs, he was already an active contributor to open source and worked in Guangzhou on a global video conference solution for the Chinese Education and Research Network (CERNET).

Stephane LACRAMPE is the CEO of the Obeo company. Before starting his own company, Stephane worked at a very early stage on implementing industrial scale model-driven solutions for very large companies. He is one of the leaders of the Acceleo project and is active with the Eclipse Modeling Project. He is now also doing consulting, bringing Eclipse Modeling technologies to customers in different domains, like embedded systems and enterprise Java applications.
