ATF uses Eclipse and Mozilla technology to provide an all-in-one environment for creating, debugging and deploying AJAX and other DHTML applications. Along with the standard tools like a DOM Inspector, CSS Explorer, JavaScript debugger and browser console, you get a full featured JavaScript editor (JSDT) including code completion and syntax checking as well as the ability to integrate AJAX runtimes into the framework. This session will provide an overview of these technologies with an emphasis on the Eclipse technologies used to create ATF.

Michael has worked for IBM for over 15 years, spending the last 10 working exclusively on web browsers and web technology. He started on web browsers leading the team that ported various Netscape technologies to OS/2 and them moved on to become an active member of the Mozilla community, working on the Mozilla suite as well as Firefox. He’s responsible for Operator, an extension for Firefox that provides interoperability between microformats and various web services. Currently his primary role is evangelizing projects from the IBM Emerging Technologies group like the AJAX Toolkit Framework.
