In the aeronautical domain, products often have a very long lifetime - several
dozens of years. It is very difficult to maintain the development tools, to stay in control
of their evolution and to retain the required skills for such a long period. The main goal of TOPCASED
is to propose, for system & software engineering, open source based solutions to these problems. During
this presentation, we will focus on the choice of Eclipse as a strong foundation for TOPCASED, and
we will expose the structure and current state of the project.
Pierre Gaufillet is a member of the software engineering methods team in the Avionics & Simulation
department at Airbus since 2001. He is in charge of real time architecture design methods and tools and
is involved in several work packages of TOPCASED. He participated to the COTRE project, that aimed to
improve the formal verification methods of real time architectures, during the 2002-2004 period. He
is also a member of the SAE group AS-2C, that defines the Architecture Analysis and Design Language.
