Eclipse is being increasingly used as a platform for tools dedicated for mobile software and content development. The presentation covers Eclipse and its role in supporting multiple mobile software development and mobile content technologies. Mobile Tools for Java is an Eclipse project dedicated to create software tools for mobile Java development. In the presentation, background and reasoning of the project as well as current status of the project is covered in detail.

Mika Hoikkala is working as senior manager in Nokia and has responsibility for Java and Content tools R&D unit. He has worked 9 years in Nokia and most of that time leading R&D groups developing tools for Mobile Software developers in both server and client side. In the Eclipse community Mika is project lead for Mobile Tools for the Java platform project. Mika also represents Nokia in the Eclipse community's planning council.
