How I built a graphical native E4 Application with GEF 4
Since E4 is the reference platform for Eclipse application development, and GEF /GEF4 project has been released for Eclipse Mars, there are new options for development of graphical editors other than using GEF (proper) with a compat layer on top of E4.
GEF4 is the next-generation Graphical Editing Framework for development of Eclipse4 Graphical Editors. Based on JavaFx and easily integratable in pure E4 applications, it is worth a test to demonstrate the capabilities of its provisional API.
The aim of this session is to share my experiences in integrating simple GEF4 graphical editors in a pure E4 application and discussing the future of GEF4 (MVC) graphical editors, related to specific E4 UI interactions.
