Embedded Testing decompiled by Target Communication Framework

Debugging Embedded Applications are relatively tough when compared with normal stand alone applications or web applications primarily attributed tot he inherent complexity of real time computing. The factors that influence the embedded applications are  platform which is chosen specifically to optimize the target application, embedded application are typically selected for small tasks and in embedded system memory, speed, tools always have parameter of time. Generally, embedded applications are debugged and tested for logical or synchronization problems in code, design error in hardware and Information on operating states – boost performance and optimize.

Challenges with Traditional Methodologies:

  • Most embedded systems cannot host a development environment, many cannot have host debugger.
  • Development occurs in PC and remote debugging is usually provided by the IDE / debugger to trouble shoot the target.
  • Each software development tool has its own method of communication with targets
  • Communication methods conflict with each other, require individual setup, configuration and maintenance.
  • Most of the embedded system communication doesn't follow same protocols.

The above factors is amplified when an organization works into automotive safety critical applications and thanks to TCF from eclipse which helps teams addressing this complex challenge and provides the key to unlock the aforementioned issues.

Can you shorten the abstract to the point that you would like to make (how TCF helps to debug embedded software)? And please keep in mind that a 10min talk is extremely short, so presenting a case study sounds very ambitious to me.
