A Multi-Frontend Chat Application based on Eclipse Scout (continued)
Session Type:
Sponsored Workshop [90 minutes]
We demonstrate how to implement your own small chat application with Eclipse Scout. Using the BahBah chat example application we will see how a Scout application supports multiple frontends such as desktop, web, tablet and mobile with a single code base.
After a brief introduction to Scout we start with the explanation of an initial workspace providing user management and authentication against a data base. You will learn how to create server services to send your chat messages, listeners to handle the incoming data on a client and UI elements to present it to the user. This can be achieved efficiently using the Scout SDK which is seamlessly integrated in your Eclipse IDE.
