Flight Club

Seaport Flight Club Photo

This October, conference attendees can participate in Flight Club by writing code to create a custom stabilizer. We will provide a special interface (Windows DLL) that receives the sensor data for the flight attitude of the copter, and controls the servo motors of the camera mount to overcome the nick and roll movements.

The challenge is to control the camera mount so that the video image remains stable while the Aibot is moving. The Flight Club Aibot will transmit an image from its camera to a nearby beamer. Participants will have access to all sensor data and to an interface that controls the camera mount.

To control the Aibot, each Flight Club member tests his or her code by connecting a laptop to a small radio module via USB. The module provides complete control over the copter.

Flight Club includes a full test set with live video show and different approaches to stabilization.

For more information, including system requirements, see the Flight Club wiki. Additional information is on the Aibotix website.

Remember to register for the conference if you want to participate!
