Xtend is a statically typed programming language which translates to readable Java source code. It is open-source and developed at Eclipse.org. JavaFX is the new shiny way to develop desktop applications in Java.
In this session you learn how developing JavaFX applications benefits from using Xtend. Being it automated generation of properties, declarative UI-programming or the general absence of boiler plate code. JavaFX applications written and tested with Xtend are much less cluttered and more readable and understandable at the same time, hence it increases developer productivity significantly.
The libraries and example we built are part of a nice little open-source project we called "Xtended JavaFX". It is available on github.
