Enabling Smart Data on M2M Gateways and Aggregators

As the wide variety of sensors and sensor protocols continue to expand, M2M application developers are faced with the task of porting applications to each new sensor and protocol. As a result, applications become locked into a specific device and more time is spent on porting for each sensor instead of focusing on creating the value added smart data for the cloud. The answer: OSGi enabled M2M aggregators and gateways. Using a live demonstration and code snippets, this presentation demonstrates how OSGi can be leveraged to abstract sensors and sensor protocols into dynamic services, freeing developers to focus on creating smart data for the cloud.
