OSLC

Leveraging W3C Linked Data, OSLC, and Open Source for Loosely Coupled Application Integrations

Session Type:
Standard [35 minutes]
Speakers

Tim Berners-Lee, credited as the inventor of the internet, defined a concept of linked data (HTTP + RDF) that defines how applications can use Web standards to build scalable applications that span a wide range of diverse technology backgrounds and datasources. This approach has been successfully used across industries such as life sciences, government, and software development (OSLC). This session gives some background on the current state of linked data and an update on standardization activity at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Implementing OSLC for Atlassian JIRA and HP Quality Center

Session Type:
Standard [35 minutes]
Speakers

What exactly are OSLC integrations and how do they work? Have you ever considered building one but don't know where to start? Come and see demonstrations of the Atlassian JIRA and HP Quality Center integrations and learn about the underlying technologies used to create each. We will demonstrate how the integrations use linked data principles to create relationships to resources in IBM Rational Team Concert, Quality Manager and Requirements Composer. Learn how the functionality is implemented using JAX-RS and eclipse Lyo.

A tools integration framework for Agile & Lean in a large scale enterprise

Session Type:
Standard [35 minutes]
Speakers

The Agile & Lean transformation plus the Open Source movement has caused an explosion of ALM tools in the industry. Large enterprises, such as Ericsson, are exposed to this disruption and have had to change by adopting an integration strategy. The Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) initiative have proven to be a key foundation for tool integrations within Ericsson. It allows for a multi-supplier strategy - a framework for integration of commercial, open source as well as proprietary in-house tools. The Eclipse Lyo SDK for OSLC implementations, has also proven valuable.

Simpler tool integrations with OSLC and Eclipse Lyo

Session Type:
Standard [35 minutes]
Speakers

Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) challenges the conventional thinking of API-based product integrations. OSLC provides a way to integrate applications just like the web integrates content, documents, and data. Linked data is the foundation of OSLC and Eclipse Lyo is a toolkit which eases the transition from traditional approaches to integration to a more Linked Data style integration model. The Eclipse Lyo project includes reference implementations, test suites, libraries, and samples to make the linked data vision real for application development tools.
