ALM Connect: Call for Papers

ALM Connect – Improving the way software delivery flows

ALM Connect is a new conference that connects the latest developments in delivery practices, processes and software delivery tools that make teams, developers and software delivery organizations deliver higher business value whilst reducing delivery waste. The world is changing and software delivery is sitting in the middle of that change with the adoption of new tools, strategies, deployment destinations, and working practices. Mobile, Cloud and PaaS coupled with Agile, DevOps and Lean thinking are changing the foundations of software delivery. Couple that with Developer Populism and you have a perfect storm. A storm that needs to be navigated by informed practitioners. If you can help navigate in this changing world then submit a talk idea.

ALM Connect, co-located with EclipseCon, focuses on the processes, tools and roles involved in the delivery of software. Sessions in ALM Connect will provide practical advice on how to implement, improve and manage the practice of software delivery and maintenance.

ALM Connect will explore many topics and technologies, including:

  • Agile and Lean development
  • Measuring the software delivery lifecycle
  • Continuous Delivery/Deployment and Continuous Integration
  • Closing the gap with Requirements Management, Agile Project Management, Testing and Development
  • Integrating DevOps with development
  • Code and peer review tools and methodologies
  • Agile task management
  • ALM and Platform as a Service/Cloud Computing
  • Mobile Development Lifecycle
  • Integrating Test Management, Quality Management, Release Management, Build Management
  • Integrating Agile methods, such as Scrum and Kanban, with tools
  • Open source technologies such as Maven, Git, Hudson/Jenkins, Puppet, Mylyn plus many many more

ALM Connect is focused on the practitioner and team leader. We want to hear from speakers who will educate attendees on how to improve the practice of software delivery. We want passionate people who are part of the software delivery revolution. We envision a mixture of talks, including:

  • In-depth tutorials that provide hands-on experiences for attendees
  • Introductions to new solutions
  • Updates and What's New on significant technologies
  • Best practices and Tips and Tricks

If you are an expert on tools used across the software lifecycle, or more focused on the practices such as Agile development, Continuous Delivery or Test Driven Development send us your suggestions. ALM Connect does not need to be Eclipse-specific. It is an industry event that spans Eclipse and non-Eclipse technologies. If you have a passion to improve the way in which software is practiced, ALM is a great stage for you to share those ideas...
