We developed DLNA bundles for giving OSGi residential gateways (e.g. home gateway, broadband home router) media gateway functionality. DLNA is a standard for media transmission among home devices such as TVs and recorders. DLNA bundles help to implement bundles those share media files not only among home devices but between homes and the internet.

In this talk, we share technical issues on developing DLNA bundles and introduce example media bundles using DLNA bundles.

  • Bundles/functions that were needed to implement DLNA bundles
  • Technical issues and hurdles using UPnP bundle for DLNA implementation
  • DLNA Proxy bundle: Watch internet videos with DLNA devices (e.g. TV), by selecting video with your Smartphone

Shinya Nobuoka is a software developer at the R&D Department of Hitachi Solutions, the company that is creating OSGi-certified platform SuperJ Engine Framework. He is the main developer of DLNA bundles and is leading the development of new OSGi bundles.
