Call For Participation

The call for participation for technical sessions at EclipseCon is now closed, but we hope you're considering submitting a poster or a BoF!

More information on EclipseCon submissions can be found by reading these instructions. Questions? Email us.

Submit a Poster

Posters are, well, posters. During the Wednesday evening Poster Reception, the poster author/presenters stand by their posters and answer questions while attendees browse the display. Poster pin boards are provided; the boards have a mountable surface 4 feet high x 8 feet long. Posters are static; there is no table and no power outlet (thus no place for a demo).

Submission instructions and guidelines are on the Eclipse wiki, so go there to read the details. Please remember that you are responsible for your submission being correct, so we suggest you take a few minutes to read the instructions. Thanks.

Poster presenters must attend the conference, and be present during the Poster Reception. If your poster is accepted, you will be asked to sign (electronically) a speaker agreement. All poster presenters must register for the conference with either an All Access Pass or an Exhibits Only pass. An Exhibits Only pass allows access to the Exhibit Area and evening receptions (though not to the technical sessions or lunches).

After you and your co-authors have registered and made hotel reservations, you'll need to start preparing your presentation materials and (optionally) upload them to the submission system (such as a PDF of your poster). This upload will automatically make the material available on the EclipseCon 2010 website before, during, and after the conference. To help, PosterGenius will provide all accepted posters with a free license for their software. In addition, PosterGenius is offering all other EclipseCon attendees a personal use license for only $19.90 USD – this is a savings of 90% off the regular price. Just enter the coupon code "eclipsecon 2010" when ordering online.

Poster submissions close on March 5, 2010. We may be able to accept late submissions; please email us to ask.

Submit a BoF

Birds of a Feather meetings are informal (i.e., unplanned) one-hour gatherings of people who want to talk about a particular topic. BOFs do not include AV such as projectors and microphones. BOFs are scheduled for the evenings, after the receptions, and serve as a great way to continue the conversations that have been started that day. There are many simultaneous BOFs and they are open to everyone.

The instructions and guidelines are on the Eclipse wiki - head over there for all the details. You are responsible for your submission being correct, so we suggest you take just a couple minutes to read all the instructions. Thanks.

If your BOF is accepted, you will be asked to sign (electronically) a speaker agreement. All BoF presenters must register for the conference with an All-Access Pass. After you've registered, don't forget to make your hotel reservation!

Some BoFs will be accepted and scheduled before the conference – others that meet the criteria may be scheduled on site. We will notify you (via auto-email from the submission system) if your BoF is a) accepted and pre-scheduled; b) eligible to be scheduled on site; or c) declined. Check the printed conference program for details on how to organize an on-site BoF.

BoF submissions close on March 5, 2010. If you miss that deadline, we encourage you to organize a BoF on site.
