In this tutorial participants will implement a fully featured business application using the Eclipse Scout framework. Scout is an Eclipse platform project in Proposal status.

Scout mainly focuses on increasing the efficiency of developing business applications. Applications based on Scout have a sound SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) client and server side,  feature a clearly defined plugin structure, and provide OSGi compliance for front- and backend.

Part 1 – Client application model

Using the SDK (Scout Development Toolkit) an application model is created in a first step

Part 2 – Remote services

Participants will then implement remote services to feed the client model using database access, and integrating webservices

Part 3 – Extending the Scout framework

Participants will be worked through the building of a simple extension of the scout framework.
