The OSGi 4.2 specification has garnered lots of attention for how it allows what traditionally has been thought of as Java EE technology to be used within OSGi bundles. However, this 'merging' of technologies has left a gap in tools between what has up to now been two different environments.

This talk will cover why OSGi matters to Java EE developers, and how to best use existing Eclipse tools like PDE and WTP to help build OSGi Enterprise applications.

Tim deBoer is the project lead for the Eclipse Web Tools Platform Server Tools project and a member of the WTP PMC.
