You probably know BIRT has scripting and maybe you have even dabbled with it. Scripting is one of the most powerful features in BIRT and enables you to address very complex data visualization and reporting problems using the ready-to-go BIRT technology. In many cases, developers create BIRT scripts with a trial-and-error approach - this works but can be time consuming and error prone. In this session, we help you take a more structured approach to advanced report development with BIRT scripting. We will cover an introduction to scripting and the event flow process within BIRT. We will then use scripting in various parts of your report building process including a scripted data set, adding scripting to report and chart elements, scripting with parameters, and using scripting in expressions and events.
