Ludovic Champenois

Java EE 6 is finally out with GlassFish v3 runtime. There is an existing GlassFish Tools Bundle for Eclipse that allows to start developing Java EE 6 Applications: Web Applications without web.xml, EJBs inside a Web Application, Java EE 6 javadoc code completion in the Editor, Maven Java EE 6 projects support, debugging, Profiling via TPTP, etc...

All this is available now. But what about the Java EE 6 support in the coming Eclipse 3.6? This talk will present what is available now and what will be available in the June 2010 timeframe regarding Java EE 6 development: JSF 2.0, Facelet, CDI, Beans Validation etc.

Also, the GlassFish v3 runtime is built on top of OSGi. What does that mean for Eclipse developers? How can you create OSGi bundles with Eclipse and deploy them and activate them within GlassFish v3?

What about mixed applications which are both Java EE 3 Web Applications and OSGi bundles for declaring dependencies via OSGi (WAB...), or using standard Java EE 6 annotations to access the OSGi services?

If you want to know more about all these subjects, just attend this session...
